Community Employment Services (CES)

Overview

CES Staff assist individuals in obtaining and keeping employment through the use of Job Readiness Training, On the Job Training, and Job Retention Support.

Job Readiness Training

CES prepares workers entering the workforce for the first time or re-entering the workforce through a variety of services that address all areas of employment including job seeking, work attitudes and behaviors and job retention skills.

On-the-Job Training

CES assists the employer in the training of the new employee by providing on the job training and assistance tailored to the needs of the employer and employee.

Job Retention Support

CES ensures the job match through follow-up contacts with the employer and employee to determine that both parties' employment needs are being met.

Go Center

The Galesburg Opportunity (GO) Center is a place where KCCDD clients can get the extra help they need to find a job. The center and CES staff assist clients in their job search through training on computers, resume writing, filling out applications and interviewing skills. It also offers job retention classes in areas such as attendance, customer service, quality awareness and work ethic, and invites community employers and workers in to speak about the expectations placed on a employees. The Go Center has computer technology and a wealth of teaching resources thanks to a grant from the UPS Foundation.
